Before the building boom of the 1960s there was very little of Chedgrave other than a farm on the cross roads.
The only pub in Chedgrave is The White Horse and the present building dates back to the 1780s. The pub currently boasts a pleasant beer garden and a bowling green.
All Saints Church is open to visitors every afternoon between 2 pm and 5 pm from 1st May until 30th October. Evidence has been found that the Romans used the site, possibly for military purposes.
At Chedgrave Common on the left bank of the River Chet 24hr public moorings and from here a footpath runs alongside the river to Hardley Flood, where many bird varieties can be observed. A longer path also leads from here into Chedgrave itself.
