Described as the Prettiest village on the Broads, Horning has won several awards, The village was the location used for the filming of "The Coot Club" by author Arthur Ransome. The village runs along the riverbank for over a mile and comprises many wonderful chalets & holiday homes, There are public moorings on the staithe next to the village green and there are electric points there (B.A. pre-paid card). There is also public moorings on the opposite bank at Perci's island but you will need a dinghy to get across the river. The river Taxi has now finished. There is a water standpipe on the Swan green. Moored at the green is the Mississippi river boat "Southern Comfort
" which has regular river trips to Wroxham or Ranworth & back it is also available for hire for private parties. Near to Horning is the RAF radar museum
theme park. The village boasts three pubs The Swan award winner for best kept riverside property, The New Inn award winner for most smoker friendly pub and The Ferry Inn Winner of best pub grub award 2012. There are Restaurants a Cafe and an award winning Chinese Takeaway plus General stores, butchers and post office. Horning is home to the "Three Rivers Race" which takes place every year at the end of May/beginning of June.
