Martham is a large Norfolk village bordering the River Thurne. A walk from the river you will find the village centre with a green and pond. With a population of over 3000 Martham has a couple of pubs, a supermarket and a variety of other shops. The church of St. Mary stands in a lovely setting in its own large grounds and its tower can be seen for miles. The church has registers dating back from 1558 though incomplete in the 18th century. The story of Christopher Burraway can be found in the Church. Burraway Incestuously married his mother.

Hand operated Martham Ferry, now a swing bridge takes farm vehicles over the water, from here take the path along the riverbank and you will find Martham Mill, the remnants of an old mill now used as a private residence.

Martham boats is the place to hire a traditional wooden Broads cruiser along with yachts, half-deckers and canoes.
